If I Ever Mysteriously Disappear, Talky Tina May Be Responsible

The Talky Tina doll shown above was featured in a Twilight Zone episode that I watched at the age of ten or eleven. I think she may have inspired my fascination with deranged, creepy, homicidal dolls. She may also be the reason I still sleep with a light on.

Soon, Talky Tina replicas will be for sale. Just pull the string, and listen to Tina's five loving phrases . . .

"My name is Talky Tina, and I love you very much."
"My name is Talky Tina, and I don't think I like you."
"My name is Talky Tina, and you'd better be nice to me."
"My name is Talky Tina, and you'll be sorry."
"My name is Talky Tina, and I'm going to kill you."

Unfortunately, Tina is only appropriate for kids 13+ (really?) and those willing to fork over a lot of cash on a sinister piece of plastic.

Lol they have a real one?! XD Although what's the point if it's only 13+. It would work great with a yandere little girl hahaha >.<

that. is. so creepy.
even creepier because i had to write a story for school. basic plotline: girl's sister goes missing. girl investigated. figures out that creepy guy with a doll shop turned her sister into a porcelain doll. then the girl also gets turned into a doll. the creepy guy and his daughter just keep moving around the country, turning girls into dolls. they keep their ability of thought as dolls, but they can't move or talk or feel anything-only watch, listen, and think.
and now i hear about this! gah. . . .

It sounds like something I'd love to buy...if only it didn't cost $139.99. Oh well, it's still really cool.

great. just what the world needs- another homicidal doll. :) i have a few porcelain dolls in my room, but none of them are scary- i suppose its because we used to be such good friends. :D

Cartoonist Roman Dirge had a little bit once with a corrupt, evil Teddy Ruxpin speaking doll....

I'm sure there are plenty more.

If i had one of those, I would never be able to sleep at night. My nightmares would go along the lines of:

I cuddle into bed, with my head squished deep into the pillow. As I enter the dreamlike state between sleep and awareness, I hear a noise. When my eyes become adjusted to the dark, I examine my room, trying to find the source. When I find nothing, I just close my eyes again and try to ignore the images flashing through my head. I must have fallen asleep quickly, because I awake again, only 30 minutes later, to a strange scuffling noise. I blink, and then I see a terrifying scene. Above me is a doll. She says, 'My name is Talking Tina. And I'm going to kill you'.

Sorry. I know I have an odd mind.

I've been afraid of porcelain dolls since fifth grade, when our teacher showed us a movie called "My Teacher ate my Homework". It involves a porcelain doll that possesses this boy's teacher. I ended up afraid of stuffed animals for a week and I still hate dolls.

Is it +13 because it's creepy or because it's $139.99??

I WANT ONE (but not for that price XD)!!!!!!! I love this kind of creepy things, even though they DO scare the hell out of me (I guess that's why I love it so much!)
I watched some twilight zone episodes with my mom (not this one, though) and they are really awesome... They should totally air it again!
When I was little I had this old doll that used to be my mother's. I was really really young and I had just watched Chucky for the first time. When I got into my room, the doll just started laughing! Then I realized the string we pulled to make her laugh was stuck but I was terrified anyways XD

Why would anyone want to bring that into their house? I've seen the episode. I think it would just give me nightmares.

The doll model that was used in the Twilight Zone episode was called Brikette (now I know why she was homicidal) and you can get that one for around $50 One creepy thing it does is that its eyes follow you. My friend used to have a four foot tall barbie doll when she was little and I SWEAR TO GOD IT TRIED TO KILL ME MORE THAN ONCE. It had a scratched up left eye and mangled hair. Once when I was going to the bathroom it fell on me out of nowhere and I would find it inside my sleeping bag or next to my stuff whenever I would sleep over. Also, no matter where I was, Its head was always pointed at me.
