Imagine Seeing a Smile Like This Coming at You in the Dark

According to the New York Times, LED "fronts" that give wearers glowing, multicolored smiles are a huge hit with Japanese teens. (I'm not sure how much faith I place in the Times' trendspotting.)

The adult in me thinks this doesn't look terribly healthy--or attractive. The girl mastermind in me thinks a set of glowing teeth could really scare the socks off people who don't follow Japanese fashion trends.

Considering Japanese teens lived through the ko-gal faze in the 90's, I don't doubt it.

Nellie- I FREAKING LOVE DOCTOR WHO.
Just sayin.

Actually, I think it's just that the top half is the same as the bottom half of the picture, so everyone appears at least twice.

I'd believe almost anything being described as a youth tend anywhere in the world. No matter how bizarre, inexplicable, or just a plain ol' style non sequitor. After all, I've spent all this morning riding with a bunch of middle aged cyclists, who think glowing, fluorescent hi-vis yellow tops and shiny lycra black bottoms make a matching, balanced wardrobe. Expecting better judgement from teens? Why?

But yeah, this does look creepy.

Robert in San Diego, not at all ashamed to say I got dropped by an eighty year old lady today.

Very unattractive, but awesome! I would love to see random peoples reactions to this while I walked around at night. xD

I was freaked out enough the first time I woke up and saw the cat's eyes glowing back at me in the dark. She may have been a psychopathic bird assassin a lousy disposition (definitely not a "morning cat") but I miss her.
