Back in the 1880's when the high society of Los Angeles would retreat to Catalina Island for the summer, pigeons would carry the "society news" back to the mainland -- and the birds got a portion of the byline!

Tom Lehrer wrote a song about pigeons in the park. It's not for the faint of heart.
My Mom, and many others, colloquially call them "winged rats." I think that's unfair, both to the pigeons and the rats.

I rather like those drawings.
Swans are pretty, but rather rude.
Geese are funny, but also rude. And very straightforward about it.
I like ostriches and toucans. And hummingbirds.
But I am SO gonna put up pictures of those pigeons up in my room...it'll match purrfectly with my wall.......
