A Very Special Pet Store (and Charcoal Grill)

Four days ago, a new store opened in downtown Manhattan. Passersby quickly noticed that there was something . . . well . . . unusual about the shop. The window displays include a sleeping leopard, a bunny wearing makeup, and chicken mcnuggets eating BBQ sauce.

Inside, it only gets weirder. There are animatronic pet sausages in glass cages and fish stix swimming in bowls.

It took people a few days to figure out that the person behind the strangest store in New York is . . . BANKSY!

I can't wait to take a look! The store/art exhibit (located on 7th Avenue between 4th St. and Bleeker) is open from 10AM to Midnight until October, 31.

OH. MY. GOSH!
He's my new favorite artist!! And idol, too. Do they have any clue where he lives? He's really talented in espionage if no one knows him. Aaah! I wanna meet him. That's impossible, I know.

O-kay...? That was weird. This Banksy person has way too much time on their hands.
Anyway, I'm still campaigning for the Dr. Martens/Journeys t-shirt contest. Please visit www.dmtshirtdesign.com/view/shieldofrock. Last I checked I was roughly 90 points out of the top 50, which is really as far as I need to get to be picked by the panel. I highly appriaciate all votes in favor as they take me 3 points closer to the top 50. :D :D :D Thanks to everyone who voted. :)

Funny, the squirrel graffiti in the second Kiki Strike book really reminded me of Banksy's, um...rat oeuvre.
What a coincidence.
I love that he's in New York now. I'll have to go looking for his work sometime downtown.

Peacreaper: Bankst is an artist, and AMAZING artist. Check out one of his books, their awesome, and then you'll get a better sense of him...

Alexandrea: Yeah! I never noticed that before!

I SOOOOOOOO wish he would do some thing like that in SF. Most people like grafiti here and pretty much anything else artsy.

That was weird. And since when did real artists use animatronics? Personally, I didn't like it at all. Again it was weird.

P.S.
Peacereaper, I really like your shirt. I vote for it like everyday. Good luck.
