Isn't it odd that two books that were rather unexpected are coming out today? Extras and The Empress's Tomb. And they've both been called "made of awesome," though by different people I think.... Thus I dub today...
MADE OF AWESOME DAY!

Neither Borders nor Barnes and Noble have it yet. They both say it's "on order" and should be here "in the next few days"... It's not even like I'm in the wilderness or anything. Feh!

Thanks! A good bookstore? Here are a few:

The Strand (Broadway & 12th). It's a HUGE store with very cheap books. A tourist attraction in it's own right.

Shakespeare & Co (One downtown and one uptown). Classic NY bookstore.

Books of Wonder (18th Street near Sixth Ave.) Great kids' books.

And there are two great mystery bookstores: Partners in Crime (44 Greenwich Ave.) and the Mysterious Bookshop (58 Warren St.)

Have fun on your trip!

o my gosh, thank you bunches for the bookstore suggestions! I'm going to check them out tomorrow:O) Today I found this book that was just like GLIMPSES OF GOTHAM. pretty cool stuff. Thank you so much. nyc is amazing, i wish i lived here. thanks again! Go KIKI STRIKE! bye!

hey anaka, i had a question on KIKI STRIKE #1. You know the part wheneveryone was at your house and your parents said " your friend has such a lovely accent" or something like that, and you were like " kiki doesn't have an accent"
I was wondeing who they were talking about. These are the questions that haunt me...

Ananka said...

You're a person with an eye for details. I like that. My mother has spent a lot of time in Europe and she has an excellent ear for accents. Though Kiki's accent (which she developed growing up with Verushka) is too faint for my ears to detect, it seemed obvious to my mother's!

My mother's like Professor Henry Higgins from My Fair Lady--she can tell where people grew up (and sometimes where they've lived in between) just by listening to their voices.

thanks for the info, ananka( and the compliment!) details are important. Thanks for all the info on the bookstores. I can't wait to read more about Kiki.
kiki stike obsessive
ps: if the irregulars are split up because Kiki claims the throne, I will have a cardiac arrest. no joke. as you might have read about me and fred weasley, i can be just a tad obssesive when it comes to books.
