Five Reasons I'm SOOO Happy to Be Back
My mission accomplished, I returned to New York late last night. I can't go into great depth about the nature of my activities in London, but you can find clues here and here. Was my mission illegal? My lips are sealed. (Sorry, Jin Ai.) But I think it's safe to say that I acted for the benefit of all humankind.
So now I'm back and even more appreciative of the wonders of New York City. For instance, where else on earth could you . . .
Enjoy a FREE haggis hot dog in celebration of Scotland Week? (Remember haggis? Maybe the ban has finally been lifted!)
Ride a subway train wallpapered with bog roll? (See, I did pick up some British lingo. Thanks, Rebecca!)
Take part in (potentially deadly) bike messenger races with names like the Headless Horseman Hunt, Battle for Brooklyn and Stupor Bowl?
See a play performed in the public restrooms near the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park?
Engage in a little sidewalk psychiatry? I feel better already!
Now back to work! There's a backlog of the bizarre!

WELCOME BACK! I just spent half of the class that was SUPPOSED to be building the tallest structure (with two sheets of paper and 30 cm. of tape) building a little house that looks like it came from the speck in Horton Hears a Who.
My teacher said that it was creative, but that I should watch less T.V. . I told him that I hadn't yet seen the movie, and that he should watch more. :)
Also; what happened that was so terrible that makes you feel the need to list why you are glad you're back?
YOU'RE BACKKKKK!!!!!!! WHEE!! EVERYONE!! ANANKA'S BACK!!! It's been soo boring these days without you blogging, I've even decided to do my homework for fun. "...For the benefit of all humankind." Hmm... Studing the uses of the giant squid? Or maybe... *gasp!* Did you find a Shadow City in London?? I'M SOO HAPPY YOU'RE BACK!!! o^-^o
You're digging?!?! (I like digging!) Digging for what??
And you're welcome back! I mean, you're always ALLOWED, but you're welcome now, too! (I make the official decision of what is welcome in the US, even if no one else knows.)
YEAH!!!!!!!! YOUR BACK! life just hasnt been the same with out you.
What were you digging for
in london? My imagination runs wild....
Hmm, just a guess, but did you connect Mr. Lyttle's and the Russian man (whose name escapes me)'s tunnels so that the Russian man would hire a good lawyer to take to court and help save the tunnels so they wouldn't be filled with cement? Or did you possibly do it just so he would pay the debts? Maybe just "convinced" the authorites not to fill them? Tell me if I'm right or close PLEASE!
YOUR BACK!! YOUR BACK!! YOUR BACK!!
*Dances*
I LOVE the picture you had on this post! It ruled! So funny! The flying penguins are amazing! That's so cool! Lets see what else I should comment on... never had haggis...Oh yes! The subway! That is sooooo weird, I wouldn't practicuarly like that. It's kinda gross. The messenger bike races are cool. I've been in a messenger bike (I think, aren't they the ones with the carriges?) The play in the bathroom is really cool! I'd love too be watching that, but it's weird at the same time. The ?'s on the sidewalk are cool, but not amazing. What if it was the wrong ? or what if it randomly made people cry or something?
IM! We have to do that progect too! Is your teacher named Mr. Kellner? (I can't say if you go to school in my town or anything, so I'm asking the teachers name)
Long post^^
What were you digging for? Are you extending the catacombs? (if that were possible?) helping those rich people? (doubt it) MUST KNOW!
YAY FOR HAGGIS!!!! I've missed you Kirsten - did you have "fun"?
lol - you remind me of Kiki sometimes. (and that's a GREAT thing!)
Will you ever tell us where you were? Will it be in your next book?
Welcome back!!!! were u planning for your next book??????????? ;)
where do u find such cool stuff to post????? durring spring break i went to moosejaw and took a tour of the tunnels. it was sooo cold, but really awesome. the enterance was through a trapdoor in a fudge factory. I kept on expecting the irregulars to pop out of oblivion. LOL
Glad you're back. Love the photo, by the wway.
IM: Thanks! Who cares if your inspiration comes from TV. At least you're inspired! Nothing was that terrible. It's just nice to be back in my favorite place in the whole world.
Kitty: Oh my! Doing your homework for fun? We must prevent that from ever happening again!
Anonymous: Excellent guess.
Mysterie: Helping rich people!? Shocking suggestion! ;) My sympathies lie with the underdogs of the world.
Anonymous #2: I'm sure it will make it into a book someday!
Kiel: I keep forgetting to post about Moose Jaw! How neglectful of me. I'd love to see it in person.
I want a hagis doggie!!
YEAH!!! i know i'm a little late, but we've had a busy test filled week at school. but anyways, i had geoggers and maths but no froggers or RE and i didnt get to eat any chips or ride any coaches but i did go to the loo and i put on plenty of lippy and i still dont know where my blasted pygmies are!!
hows THAT for some British lingo, ananka??? hehe, i'm not even from maryland ;) don't ask, i don't know why either. but WOW, i would have loved to ride a subway in england wallpapered with bog paper. haha, was it SO cool?
Returning to the city is like nothing else. Were you in London visiting Evanna Lynch? That's just some lie i've made up. But hey, if you're casting for a Kiki Strike movie, you'd be doing yourself a great disservice by not holding an open audition for us New York girls!! We are quite a talented bunch! Anyway, that whole cottonelle thing creeps me out, and I'm glad I've never been stuck in that subway car. What's up with this bombardment of advertising? Fahrenheit 451, anyone?? sheesh!
Translating for SS Chick:
But anyway, I had geography and math but no frogs(?) or (I have no clue;reading possibly/), and I didn't get to eat any french fries or ride any coaches, but I did go to the bathroom and I put on plenty of chapstick and I still don't know where my stinking (I don't know) are.
I think I did a jolly good job. Ananka's been going to see a man with a dog (in British) so I don't exactly know if british lingo came up to much. My last sentence had nothing to do with buying eggs (in British). HOW'S THAT FOR WEIRD NON-SENSICAL BRITISH SAYINGS!
