Counting Sheep in Times Square
Giant sheep (above) are now roaming Times Square thanks to artist Kyu Seok Oh and the Times Square Alliance. (You can check out other Times Square art installations here!)
Also, the New York Times Magazine has a wonderful article/slide-show that focuses on Parisian street artist JR. His enormous artworks (example below) are always stunning--and he often uses them to call attention to social problems, such as the plight of the poor. I think the woman lying on her side by the Seine (see the slide-show) may be one of my favorite artworks of all time. (He used the same image for an installation here in New York, but the setting wasn't as lovely.)

I love the art! It's just amazing! As soon as I'm old enough I'm going to move to New York. I just love it there...
The lady lying on her side-didn't you post a picture of that in New York a while back?
Also, those eyes remind me of Audrey Hepburn. (Maybe it's just me, but. . . .?)
Ahh!! They're soo cute! >w<
Beautiful eye poster/mural thing. Its been a long time since I was on, missed the contest :| but loved the entries!
Im gonna put an eye poster on my bedroom closet.
mae= falcon btw
All of that is so AWESOME!!! The sheep made me laugh,I want one. The artwork was amazing, and, you're right, the picture of the woman on her side IS amazing. I love it too, but I love all of the others as well. The eyes just look so mysterious, I wish I had something like that on my bedroom wall.
I'm getting a Japanese exchange student tomorrow! I'm learning Japanese, so that's why. I'm so excited, becuase I'm gonna tell her about Kiki Strike! She probably won't understand half of what I say, but it will be fun to tell her about it anyway!
Paris art reminds me of an article I stumbled across a while back and meant to send your way: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2007/nov/26/france.artnews -- Something tells me you've seen it, it's about the further shenanigans of "paris underground" members. Something tells me, though, that you're already very aware of what they're up to.
There were pictures of this in the Wall Street Journal this morning! :)
Oh wow, right before I saw this blog me and my friends were writing about sheep! Well, sparkly blue sheep serial killers. (I thought of the serial kller part.) It's a sign! We're entering a writing contest, and now we're gonig to win! yay! :)
