WHAT????

A bomb was just discovered in the Marble Cemetery! I'm not making this up. Check out the news report here!

Here's a little message for the person responsible. Soon, you will wake up in the middle of the night to find a pale, elfin girl with colorless hair staring down at you. Don't bother to beg for mercy.

(And I would just like to state for the record that I wrote the previous post long before I heard about this. What a bizarre coincidence!)

UPDATE: This report from the New York Times leads me to believe that the device was discovered at the OTHER Marble Cemetery. (Yes, there are two of them. They're about a block apart, and people tend to get them confused.)

Wow!!! Why would someone want to blow up the Marble Cemetery?

It's a very strange coincidence that you made a post about blowing things up on the same day that the Cemetery got a bomb threat. Weird!

WOW
any theories why Kirsten/Ananka?

the person of the people said...

a logical explanation for that:
luz or deedee left it when they were planning on closing off another section of tunnels. either that, or its terrorists planning another go at us-in which case, your message makes a lot of sense. terrorists are meanies.

Thanks for the update. So there's a New York Marble Cemetery two blocks away from the New York City Marble Cemetery? I can see why that would be confusing.

I had the distinct displeasure once of being too close to an unannounced use of a very small amount of C4 explosive (about 2 tsp), carefully shaped, molded, placed, and covered with a wet sandbag, being used for a very specific demolition. Whole bricks (plural) of the stuff just laying around in trash bags? That's scary. That's really scary.

Oops that's not what I meant at all XD haha I posted in the wrong place.

Sounds weird. Maybe someone is trying to lure Kiki back. Heck, if i lived down there id be over there ASAP.

idiots. all of 'em. i dont care what they say otherwise, its stupid to not turn a mysterious bag in to the police. or at least, put it back without figuring out what the contents are-i woulda looked in there if i found a bag like that. its also really stupid to try and blow up dead people. NEWS FLASH: theyre already dead, so you cant kill them!!
but i guess it could have been a drop point, and the other guys might have forgotten to pick it up. there are numerous theories someone could come up with. i think thats what ill do now, i love doing that sort of thing. im good at it, too, because of my paranoia. someone tells me that theres somebody out there who wants to give me a hug or hold my hand, its gonna strike me as creeperish-not like somebody has a crush on me. and if they did id find them creepy. extremely creepy.
now, enough babbling aimlessly for today. . . .

Dumb theory time.

Kids playing with explosives usually, or at least one hopes usually do the deeds in an open area. Just in case. Or to better see the bang. Or for "plausable deniability" just in case. Or because they EXPECT big scorch marks.

How much open space is there in New York City? Probably a lot, but much of it is monitored, or in active use. I don't think any budding amateur demolition artist is going to be testing home-made soup can depth charges in the Central Park model boat pond without someone noticing.

Someone MIGHT have carted the explosive to the cemetery for a little out of the way experimenting, except a) it's not that big a space (vault spelunking might pass unnoticed, but not explosions) and b) if you'd be testing something you'd bring a completed infernal device to test.

I'm thinking explosives deal gone bad. Maybe an old fashioned "blind drop" left in a tree branch that fell into the cemetery.
It is still an astounding amount of explosives.

Oh my God, I started freaking out until I got to the update. Phew. But what sick person would do that? Unless it was for some practical reason like there was actually a secret entrance to the Shadow City and the Irregulars had to block it off because an evil ferret-loving man planned to take over NYC, and then New York, and then the U.S.A, and then the world using the Shadow City!!!
Okay. Now I'm afraid that might happen. Okay. In-out, In-out, In-out, In-out, In-out, In-out, In-out, In-out, In-out, In-out, In-out, In-out, In-out, In-out, In-out, In-out, In-out, In-out, In-out, In-out, In-out, In-out,

Oh yeah, and anonymity's, did you know that you could have a name without opening an account for something? You just click on NAME/URL where you would normally pick Anonymous, and type in your name. You don't have to put a URL.

I was actually an Anonymous myself for a while, until I figured this out. Of course, I can imagine why you would want to be an Anonymous. Oh the things you could do.....

Dear Toodles:
Thanks for the naming tip.

My friend's alternate theory to mine is that someone was "prepositioning" material to fight zombies. But if that were so, there would be another plastic bag out there, filled with baseball bats or machetes.

I like the sound of that message in chalk

Oh dear.

Just out of curiosity, which Marble Cemetery is Kiki's Marble Cemetery?(so I know which one to visit if I ever go to NYC, haha.)

I think the chalk message and hand-written note part of that mystery's extremely creepy. It's too bad they didn't tell what it said...
It's also creepy that someone takes an interest in blowing up the dead. People really should find better things to do with there time...

Kitty: Yeah your right, that caretaker wasn't doing a good job at all. I wonder if he got fired for that.
