This Explains SOOOO Much

"People who drink too much coffee could start seeing ghosts or hearing strange voices, UK research has suggested."

Oh dear. According to this BBC article, seven or more cups of coffee a day can make a person three times more likely to hallucinate. Scientists at Durham University studied a group of coffee-swilling student guinea pigs and found they were far more prone to paranormal experiences, including "seeing things that were not there, hearing voices, and sensing the presence of dead people."

More research needs to be done, of course. But I'm already considering cutting back on the caffeine.

I'll take the hallucinations as long as something gets me up in the morning!!! I'm afraid I disagree, if it was that likely to hallucinate due to coffee, wouldn't it have been discovered before?
I just had a terrible, terrible thought, what if they decide that coffee is hazardous to our health... what if they BAN COFFEE, turn it into an illegal drug... that would be awful, what does everyone else think?

Why would you drink seven cups of coffee a day, anyway? That stuff is vile.... Even if you like the taste, what good does 7 cups do?

Hmm, good thing I don't drink coffee.

Whoot: I don't think coffee would ever be banned. Want to know why? Because the people that ban things can't function without it either. :)

Hallucinating coffee addicts, I believe it.
Although, I can't even stand the smell of coffee, I prefer hot tea.

I drink one cup a day, sometimes none. It would scare the pants off me if I saw a dead person or heard voices. But I'm safe, yay! ;)

Hum, intersting. But I'm not gonna stop drinking coffee until I start seeing purple monkeys dancing in my car.

How do you sleep on seven cups of coffee a day... They must look like wrecks!
Dame Orchid: I like the smell of coffee, but can't understand why anyone drinks it.

I. Don't. Like. Starbucks. AT ALL. One of their cups said something along the lines of: a bunch of tree huggers invented global warming. we invented good coffee.
DXDXDX **ANGER**
Anyway, I'm back! I have a mountain of homework and basketball team stuff is all the time, so I haven't been on in so long! XD I'm glad to be back!

I don't drink coffee, but now I'm tempted to drink seven cups a day to experiment on myself. I wonder what kind of hallucinations I would have?
Does caffine somehow effect the parts of the brain that control the senses? How? Have any neurologists studied this?
Well, that shows my parents, they practically drink their weight in coffee...maybe I should ask them whether they have had any hallucinations!

the hallucinations could let you go deeper into your
mind, believe it or not.You could think of lots of things you forgot in the past.all depends on who you
are and how much you connect to yourself. It also depends on your powers and abilities

Who would need 16 cups of coffee a day (aside from you, of course, haha)? I would be scared to have that much caffeine circulating in my bloodstream.

I Love coffee, but my parents rarely let me have any. I see things anyway... is that bad? :/ For example, the ghost named Henry in my fireplace? Hmmmm....
