It's Raining Iguanas

(Above: Enjoying a nice little nap.)

On Wednesday night, it rained iguanas in South Florida. When the temperature dipped to near freezing, the large lizards began dropping out of the trees. Apparently, the cold puts them to sleep, and they remain in a state of "suspended animation" until their bodies are warmed by the sun. Then the pests magically come to life and return to nibbling on Florida's endangered plant species.

UPDATE JANUARY 8:

Here's what happens to the kind souls who try to save the frozen iguanas. “One sweet lady . . . was so worried after seeing an iguana fall out of her tree. She thought it was dead and frozen. We told her not to take it into the house. It was a big one, maybe 5 feet. But you know how people are. When it woke up, she couldn't understand why it seemed to be coming after her. She couldn't get it to leave.”

You know... I bet there are iguanas here, just not like everywhere you turn. It'd be weird seeing squirrels and iguanas wrestle. "AAAAAAAAAAHAHAHFDJLSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSJKFLDFSJ"
