Are You Being Watched?

You've been receiving threatening texts from an anonymous number. Every night, someone prank calls your house. You have gotten numerous notes warning you're going to be attacked. And you've started to sense that an evil clown is watching your every move.

If you live anywhere other than Switzerland, you should start practicing your kung-fu, hire a squad of girl masterminds to act as your personal bodyguards, and consider phoning the police. If you're Swiss, check your parents' credit card bills. It might just be your birthday present.

Dominic Deville has started a new birthday service in Lucerne, Switzerland. For a reasonable fee, parents can hire him to slap on some evil clown makeup and scare their birthday girls and boys senseless. He'll stalk each kid until he has a chance to deliver a "present"--a birthday cake smashed in the kid's face.

Most people think it's sick. But I kind of feel sorry for Dominic. One day, he's going to end up stalking the WRONG kid.

More here.

  5. If a clown started stalking me, I'd call the police. Or possibly snatch the cake from him and plaster it to HIS face. Hehehe.

  6. Ok, the picture kinda freaked me out for a second, before I realized it was only a clown. I'm personally EXTREMELY relived I don't live anywhere near Switzerland! (But a note to the guy: he would freak people out more if he dressed up as Miley Cyrus)

  8. I would scream for the police and claw his eyes. Really, really loudly. Really, really hard. This would make me so angry. I am so glad my parents would never do this to me.

  11. Wow, that is. . .SO COOL!! Although, I don't think my parents would be cool enough to give that to me.

Also, any Harry Potter fans out there, you HAVE to watch A Very Potter Musical!! It's really funny and it was put on by high schoolers. Just search A Very Potter Musical on youtube and it will pop up :)

  13. Genius. Evil genius. For once, I regret not living in Switzerland. (Even though the Swiss are generally spineless creatures who are too chicken to put up a fight to protect anything, even something trivial like democracy or human rights. I mean, come on. It's only a world war, people. Grow a backbone.)

    Ahem. Rant over.

  14. Yell a war cry, turn around really fast, kick the clown in the nuts, take the cake and run off screaming like a maniac. Or, start sending HIM threatening phone calls. Turn the tables on him.......BWAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAA

P.S. Check out my page FB. 'Never trust anybody with a Mustache.'

  15. Yay! You're back! :)

That is totally creepfest. I would just whip out my trusty Punjab Lasso on him, if I were being stalked. (I am a total Phantom of the Opera PHANatic, note the lovely lasso mention above)

It would be fun to do that though. It would be hilarious if he stalked the wrong person, though...

  16. Someone commented on the news story to say, "And there's serious potential for tragedy here. If someone in the family is a member of the Swiss militia - which pretty much all adult men are - I could definitely see a terrified older child creating a, umm, ballistically decommissioned clown."
    I sooo agree.

  17. Would anyone like to help me rebel against parent?? I don't find it fair that teens don't have the same rights as adults. Then again I'm kinda mad at my mom right now....

  18. It is so interesting that so many people are afraid of clowns. I myself find them a bit creepy, but it is such a strange phenomena! Anyone understand why this is so?

  24. I like your perspective, Ananka-Kirsten. =] If my parents did that to me, the clown would get a kick in the chest before /I/ realized what I was doing. =]

  25. And that is supposed to be a _birthday present_?? Shudder.

I can't help but wonder how the guy even came up with that. And what cruel and evil person convinced him it was a good idea.

PoisonPen: Hey! By staying out of the war, they made Switzerland a (relatively) safe place to escape to (safer than the rest of Europe @ the time, anyway).

  35. yeah, i agree with Irregular Kiki....i can't believe any kid's parents would do that! that would probably make me unstable for life! i got soooo scared this one time when i was walking to my neighbor's house down the street (and it was night)....my brother jumped out from behind a bush and scared me....let's just say i screamed, my heart felt like it was about to explode, and i ran as fast as i could.....now that i think back on it, i wish i had given him a good kick. :)

also, i agree with you kirsten! one time some kid is going to teach him a lesson! (probably a girl, too!) then he'll think twice before pretending to stalk kids...
