  1. I knew something was going to happen to her! Just not that... maybe a monster that lurs little children in by dolls that look like them so he can eat the kids but... that's just creepy! It's my kind of thing though... almost reminds me of Sweeney Todd...

  2. How creepy... Just another reason to be afraid of dolls.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Ooh, creepy! o_O

I suspected that would happen when the doll on the trike came in.

Ok, I have a problem. In social studies we are supposed to do a report on a country. Sounds easy enough right?? Well I don't know which country! Aaah!
I want a country that is usually totally overlooked (So not like china or france or japan), but overflowing with bizzareness. Any Ideas?? I have none.

    =)

  17. Ummmm, but isn't Czechoslovakia broken up into the Czech republic and something else?

Why not try something like Lesotho? It's completely surrounded by South Africa.

Or how about the US even? IT'S pretty bizarre in some ways.

Ha ha ha ha ha! It was also funny.

    ReplyDelete

  28. eeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkk!!!! evil dolls are the worst!!!!! i thought it was a pretty awesome short film though

    ReplyDelete
  29. Why didn't Alma notice something fishy when the doll mysteriously transported itself from the window to the table to the shelf? She's much too overly trusting... reminds me a bit of Alice (from Alice in Wonderland), what with the parts where Alice decides to eat random things.

    ReplyDelete
  30. See?
I knew I had a reason to be terrified of dolls!
Reminds me of the It's a Small World ride at Disneyland. Scared me to death...

    ReplyDelete
  31. and this is ....

This reminds me of a story I heard once

    ReplyDelete
  32. The title of the video (Alma) means 'soul' in spanish.

  33. Yes, Kiwi, do Indonesia! It's where my mom is from! It's totally overlooked, even though it's the world's fourth most populous country.

  42. this is creepy, I'm not even all the way through it and I'm scared...it's loading.

    ReplyDelete
  43. She does kinda remind me of those gorls in horror films. 'Eeek! There's a killer in there!' Me:'Yes I know'
'Oh no! I left my mother's shaw there!' Me: 'No... No, NO!'
'i'll be back in a second, guys!'
    Me: 'Forget you.'

    ReplyDelete
  44. The unfittingly happy music was the best part.

I was thinking, "Don't touch it! It's gonna bite you!"

  45. I think I'm going to do Czech Rebublic. Anyone know something completely and overwhelmingly strange about it???

    ReplyDelete
  46. That was just plain messed up
Kristen, do you knwo who made that?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Kiwi: I'll look up about it.... (opens up google)

-A church in the Czech republic houses a chandelier made of human bones

    Christmas Customs:
On 6 December children are visited by a Devil and/or Angel and/or St. Mikoláš. A good kid gets small gifts, candy or fruit. A bad child is threatened to be taken away by the devil in his sack. The Angel or St. Mik can intercede on the child's behalf.

    Easter Customs:
Exquisitely hand decorated eggs are made to be given as gifts.

A boy may make a „pomlaská" of braided willow twigs in hopes of garnering decorative ribbons from girls to attach to it.
However, a girl might choose to throw a bucket of cold water at an annoying young man rather than yield a ribbon.

Mushroom Hunting: a Czech National Passion!
Every year on St. Václav Day weekend [weekend closest to 28 Sept.], thousands of Czechs go to the forests in search of the special Václavky mushroom.

Czechs generally take mushroom hunting as seriously as they do other recognized
sports. No! They consider mushrooming more important than sports. They are
extremely competitive fungi finders. Do not even think about jumping another
    Czech's fungus claim!

Police in the Czech republic are trying to find out who stole a 4 tonne railway bridge from the border town of Cheb.

The company which was responsible for looking after the bridge raised the alarm when, ever alert, they noticed that the bridge wasn't there any more.

The bridge was on a disused stretch of line just outside Cheb.

Martina Hruskova, a spokeswoman for the Czech police, commented to AFP: 'We are not sure if it was taken for personal use or for its scrap value.' Exactly what that 'personal use' might be was left unsaid.

'It is the first time we have dealt with this type of theft,' she added.

Of course, it's not the first time some light-fingered bridge enthusiast has made off with a bridge. At least two bridges have been nicked in Russia in the past six months, and a pair of bridge thieves appropriated two Macedonian bridges last February.

    Hope this helps!!

  48. Okay, you guys, I need serious girl support right now. Today at lunch my friend talked to the guy I have liked for three years. You see, over winter break I asked him out over text and I never got a response, even at school. So when she asked him about it, he told her that he got my text but didn't reply. He also has known that i like him and didnt say anything. Also, he doesnt like me. I am really hurt, and I don't know what to do. I think that he didn't tell me to spare me the pain, but he caused even more pain. How do I let him know how I feel? You can also e-mail me at ***** (removed by KM). I would really appreciate any advice, and yes, I know that I don't need guys. I just don't know how to get rid of this one without any more pain.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Im sorry, rileydog. Unfortunately, I have no guy experience whatsoever, so I can't give you any advice. But kirsten did an amazing job with that anyway.
    I hope you feel better : )

    ReplyDelete
  50. Rileydog:

I took your email address out of the post. This is a public blog, and I wouldn't want some creepy fifty-year-old dude responding to your plea for help.

Now. Advice. Everyone gets rejected. Everyone. It doesn't matter if you're the smartest, prettiest, funniest girl on the planet. Some guys just aren't going to like you! And there's absolutely nothing you can do about it!!! I know it sucks, but if you learn this lesson early, it will make life a whole lot easier later on.

Go ahead. Feel upset. Cry, moan, scream at the walls. But first, figure out just how long you want to be upset about this guy. (In your case I recommend one weekend.) Do not let yourself suffer any longer than that. On Monday morning, get up, put a smile on your face, and forget he ever existed.

You just learned a tough lesson, Rileydog.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Thanks, you guys. Yeah, a weekend sounds pretty good. I really appreciate your advice, it will help a lot!!!! Thanks again!!!!

  52. Oh, and I forgot the first time: last night, i was on my gmail account and igoogle account 3:14 AM. I did this because I have a theme that changes every 2 hours: Tea house. At 3:14 AM on certain nights it will show an 'easter egg' which is a picture that will only stay up for 1 minute. The picture for Gmail was 3 white ghostly createures walking toward the sleeping Tea House fox. The igoogle one had 3 spirits of some sort floating across the lake to take some dumplings left for them by the fox. I have actually been able to keep those windows up and will keep them up so I may gaze upon the ghostly pictures. The whole idea of the easter egg is very mysterious, and I wanted to share it with you guys. :)

  53. I am totaly going to watch it again!

  54. Why would you want a doll that looked exactly like you and could teleport and that was evil and wanted to kill you?
    oh right, CUZ ITS AWESOME!
I wonder where the doll went.
Maybe it pretended to be Alma.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Al Fonzo~ Wow! Yeah it does help! Thank you sooo much! =) Those are really bizzare. Who would steal a bridge?? =)

    ReplyDelete
  56. This is Rileydog, my computer is just messed up. You know, Kirsten, I've been thinking about what happened to me. I think that even though I'm in pain right now, once its gone then I will be stronger for it. I'm just so upset that he would do that to me. I'm not upset because he doesnt like me, I'm upset because he didnt answer me and just left me waiting. He doesnt seem like the kind of person who would hurt others(I've known him for three years now) and I cannot fathom why he would do that!!

  57. how about Micronesia? It's an entire country, made up of tiny islands, off the coast of Australia. I find tiny countries very interesting.

  58. I forgot, on top of all this drama, on Nov. 5th my school burned down. Now I go to one of the high schools. When the school burned down, I was at Mountain School(an overnight camp for some of the 8th graders) so everything seemed like a dream. Then when we got back we had a week off of school while the school district figured out what to do. So far, my 8th grade year has been full of tragedys(see post at 8:28am)

    ReplyDelete
  59. Rileydog: He didn't respond because he was scared. Think of how you might feel in a similar situation. He didn't handle it as well as he might have, but he doesn't seem like a monster, either. Resist the urge to teach him a lesson and spend your time looking for a guy you like even better. (Easier said than done, I know.)

    ReplyDelete
  60. Thanks again Kirsten! I'm sorry if I'm annoying you. Also, I was wondering if you got my e-mail. I sent it Friday morning.

  77. Rileydog -

I'm not the best person to ask in theses situations, but I do want to help. So I'll tell you what I thought when I heard your story:

It sounds like an adventure novel.

Girl confronts guy she's liked for three year. Guy ignores her. Girl is heartbroken. Something exciting happens (school burns down).
And you know what happens next. right?

Girl has mind-blowing awesome adventure, and forgets all about guy. (And along the way meets wonderful boy that makes her forget all about the first guy.)

    But...

There is a word of caution, however. Your life isn't a story, and I have no idea how is goes. Nobody does. So it may not happen like that. But let me go on a cliche note:

If your already heart-broken at this age, you're going to get a lot more of it. (I personally don't think kids should be dating at your age.) But one day, maybe 15 years from now, you'll find someone. And he'll be better then all those others combined.

So see, you did learn somthing from this:

I suck at giving romantic advice.

    Good luck anyway,
    42

    ReplyDelete
  78. Thanks, 42!! I do hope it gets better, and until then I will try to have a great time with my friends!!! Today I tried to pretend that he didnt exist(hes in two of my classes) and other then that I had a great day!!!

    ReplyDelete
  79. 42; No offense, but how old are you? Just curious.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Sorry- I can't help but ask (I suppose kirsten might prevent u from answering)42: r u implying that u r much older than us? I really hope ur not 42 cause, that would b awesome cause ur reading this but sad cause well, we're all like 13. sorry 4 those of u who r different ages
