Kiki Strike in Russian!

Earlier this weekend, I received a surprising shipment from Russia. Inside were several copies of the book shown above, the Russian edition of Kiki Strike. When I opened the package, I nearly shrieked with delight. The cover is AMAZING. (The picture here doesn't even begin to do it justice.) It's a shiny iridescent, dragonfly green, with touches of silver and gold. It also features one of the best depictions of Kiki that I've ever seen. (Of course the Russians would know what a Cossack hat looks like!)

Kudos to the Russian artist responsible. I LOVE it! (And I always wanted to see Kiki's name written in the Cyrillic alphabet.)

  3. That's pretty dang cool, but, in all honesty, I think I like the American interpretation of the character more. Not to burst anyone's bubble.

  4. Oh my god, that's amazing!! Do you know where I can find one? lol. I'll get my friend to translate it for me...

I was just thinking about how you mentioned butt power in an interview, which made me crack up-I think I was actually supposed to be doing my homework when I read about that, which just goes to show how little butt power I have! --Especially when it comes to sitting through hour long sermons in church....

  12. Hi Hazel: Are you guys in Germany yet? Butt power, since you ask (haha), is the ability to sit on your butt long enough to accomplish something great (like write a novel, paint a masterpiece, or compose a song). It's the secret of every artist!
